What it is
Microsoft Copilot is an AI assistant built directly into Microsoft 365, developed in partnership with OpenAI and powered by GPT models alongside Bing's search infrastructure. It is embedded across the full suite of Microsoft applications — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Windows 11 — making it the default AI layer for organisations already running on Microsoft's platform.
